Short Coats Still Shed
Those small hairs can work their way into furniture, carpets and clothing. Professional bathing, controlled blow-drying and thorough brushing loosen and remove dead coat more effectively than a quick rinse at home, which can reduce shedding and leave the skin and coat feeling clean.
Skin Needs Attention Too
Short hair can make some skin changes easier to see, but folds, paws and areas close to the body can still hold moisture or irritation. A groom provides a regular opportunity to notice external changes such as redness, dry patches, lumps or parasites. A groomer can report what they see, although diagnosis and treatment belong with your vet.

A common starting point is every eight to twelve weeks, though active dogs, heavy shedders and dogs with specific needs may benefit from a different routine.
